Rockwell hardness testers need to be replaced after being used for a long time or after the indenter is damaged.

When replacing the diamond indenter, we should pay attention to the following points:

  1. The diamond indenter is fixed on the main shaft of the hardness tester by a screw. When installing, align the flat part of the diamond indenter with the screw. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws so that the pressure head does not fall off. Remember not to overtighten the screws. This will affect the accuracy of the hardness tester;
  2. When installing the diamond indenter, lower the workbench as far as possible to prevent the diamond head from hitting the workbench during installation and damaging the indenter.
  3. After the installation is completed, use a standard block to test the hardness value. There is no need to count the first point. Start counting from the second point. If the hardness value is not accurate, the side needs to be adjusted.
